i enjoy wanaka...

Eddie have check the road at

Eddie have check the road at Coronet peak, and It seems there is too many cattle stops, so you can't get a nice run.
Crown Range is do-able (i did it plenty of times, both sides, from top to bottom), but it's a very hard one and quite dangerous very steep, with cars and guard rails+ rough sealing on Queenstown side. The best is to go very early in the morning. You can't really go full speed on Crown Range as their is heaps of blank corners and you never know if you will face with a car if you cut the corners...
Here a video from Crown Range I made last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQO13CdwS9w
If you are coming to the Queenstown Race, we can go freeriding on the Sunday. I'm sure their is plenty of riders who plan to pass the night in Queenstown, so It can be a good opportunity for a freeride...
The Queenstown race track may seems a bit easy(but fast) for some of you, but as for a first race we organize in the South Island, I have no idea of the average riders skills level, so I prefer to start with something that everybody can go safe to the bottom, and then rise the technical difficulties on the future races.
Let's keep some more technicals roads as "freeride" for the keen ones on the day after
