am i allowed to sell new stuff on here?
..
Selling things on this site in the gear for sale/Trade section is out of the question unles you want to get arrested.
ok, so i'll rephrase without
ok, so i'll rephrase without actually mentioning the brand/product i want to sell.
I have a new product to NZ, direct from the states and was wondering if i would be breaking any rules by posting up here that i have said unmentioned product for sale.

i dont think so but then
i dont think so but then again dont quote me. i thought the ban was only for retailers of online shops like boarderlines/ultimate/pulse. dont quote me though.
Only second hand goods for now
We are still waiting to hear from the GSNZ board regarding a few matters but soon NNO will be giving add space for sellers who stock new products.
thanks for showing the respect to ask first, i really dig that!
awesome timing haha
awesome timing haha
Yeah...
There's no way you'd catch me saying that I was trying to sell undoubtedly high quality but unidentified products from a country far far away for an undisclosed but highly competitive exchange of currency at a place on the wondrously wide web with a site name starting with one of the first (lets say) 3 letters of the alphabet and ending with .co.nz....
No way....
that was so confusing i
that was so confusing i pooped myself

Face down ass up thats the way i like to tuck
Oh, sneaky sneaky. When do
Oh, sneaky sneaky. When do you get Biltins in again? Wanting some for my new decks, and Hopkin's way more expensive.
I don't know what you mean...
But if I did know what you were talking about I would say that these things to which you refer might already be in a city not too distant from my own and should be on a motorised delivery appliance whose time of arrival is expected to coincide with a day that rhymes with... umm... Wednesday.
loving the cheakyness!
Billy, your cheakyness rubs me the right way!
I have been waiting for quite some time to hear back from GSNZ before making the final call regarding advertising but it seems that it is starting to hurt the local sellers, like Bombardier, who have been fully behind NNO and using it as a means to get that "undoubtedly high quality but unidentified products from a country far far away" out to the riders in need of such wares.
Nick, what is the hold up with the reply from GSNZ? When are we having the next board meeting as this issues has been hanging for a few months now. I know in the past yourself speaking as the owner of UB has said that you think Facebook is a far better space to advertise but many others vendors seem to think that NNO is the place to be seen. They have waited very patiently but IF I was them I would be very annoyed this is dragging out so long.
Can we have a GSNZ board meeting this week to discuss the relationship between NNO and GSNZ?
If I do not get a reply from GSNZ by this time next week I think it will be time to release the new advertising rules as I hate to see the likes of www.boarderlines.co.nz hurting as I have only heard good reports from billy's prices, service and what he is doing for skateboarders in nz!
GSNZ and NNO
Im not part of GSNZ but i was under the impression that it was seperate from NNO in the sense that they dont run the site. Obviously there is going to be a crossover of people but shouldnt the site run independant of the GSNZ? And how does advertising affect local business?
i dont like fb advertisment..
i would way rather a site like nno where all retailers/board builders in NZ show there products and give updates etc..
The reason being is that it keeps NZ Longboarding all in one place and makes it a tight unit.
And to me facebook isnt nearly as effective as a forum website with thousands of members and posts that date way back, because say if people who are just getting into longboarding want to find out some stuff and get recomendations on NZ boards and products being sold in NZ the will most probably use a search engine like Google. If you google: New Zealand Longboards which are key words Need Not Ollie is the FIRST website that comes up. Its not logical to jump on facebook and try to find this type on info because facebook is not the place i personally would expect to find updates and info from the New Zealand longboarding scene.
Yes you can have all the people following you on facebook but its no way near as many people as i think are on nno. And it separates you from the scene.
I AM NOT attacking Ultimate Boards about there Facebook site this is just me saying my opinion to help grow our scene, and i dont care what it is on facebook i personally dont like it as a advertising tool.
:)
Personally...
Personally I don't tend to type in "New Zealand" when I search on google, I find it much easier and faster to just type in "NZ" and I believe the same can be said for many others. So instead of typing "New Zealand Longboards" into google, what is the top result for "NZ Longboards"?
The feel of surfing... with the chance of dying.
well yeah..
bombardier longboards comes up first when i google nz longboards ( hellsyeah :D ) and nno is 2nd.
To be fair...
For me its not so much about the loss of advertising on NNO.
I can't deny this is a great place to drop updates on whats coming and going in the store. My main concern is that its not easy to contribute to discussions without inadvertently and/or sneakily advertising or promoting the store. I fully understand the reasoning behind it though.
I don't like Facebook either, not because of any opinions I might have about the pros and cons of Facebook as a marketing tool, but because I'm an old fart and just don't really see what the attraction is. And don't get me started on Twitter.
Billy
so is it a yes or a no? it's

it's just that i've got something that is 'red' 'hot' here and is a really good wheel - I mean 'deal'.

My 2 cents
Have small boxes on the right side of the page with advertising for NZ board companies like Ulitamte boards, boarderlines and bombardier which have there small image linking to their web site for however much money a month.
Its better than advertising in the paper, facebook etc. Because people on this site are here for longboarding only so you will only find people that want to buy longboards
Still have Gear for sale/trade/wanted for non retail sellers.
This is a happy medium for all everyone, Thats my idea.
Any news from GSNZ? Whats

Thirded!
Still no word from GSNZ and has been long enough! If NZ builders are hurting then NZ riders are missing out and this is just not good!
I have seen these boards and they are very sweet rides indeed!
A few weeks back Apookako snaffled up most of the bamboo I was selling to raise funds for NNO and had a decent chat about our many crazy projects. Only a short while later the nutter is shredding at Cape horn and then turning up at midnight to show me his new board!
I was STOKED as! The board is sweet, nice shape, foot locking concave and solid! Cant wait to see it mounted so I can give a full ride report!
So not only had i been blown away by a sweet ride, the fact it was made in New Zealand AND that some Kiwi local is going to get a board dialed in for our hills, built by a rider who will steal your inside lines and has shown commitment to the wider skate community!
Apookako: Feel free to post up a new page and show us your gear, Thanks once again for the donation to the upgrade! If you dont have a website, fire me some photos and info and I will put it on Uglie Carnie.
Other Nz Board builders: Feel free to show us your latest projects cause i know the rain sucks for skating but can really give you the time to do crazy new things! Please keep posts bout the boards, construction and NO selling on the site but feel free to link to your own site for pricing etc. Over the next few weeks I will be starting a thread to propose an idea I have to help ALL nz board builders and NNO at the same time!
Thanks to all riders, builders and vendors who took the time to contact us about what you felt was fair, what you wanted to see happen and your ideas! We will try to implement as much as we can and hope that the new site will be every thing you wanted!
Add ban still in effect but all interested vendors please contact me and we will email you with the advertising rates when we are ready with the new site.
advertising rates!!! hahah
advertising rates!!!
hahah funny.
I was there at the beginnig for NNo. in the room when the name was decided.
I'm doing exactly what NNO is about, offering something at a great price that is currently unavailable.
I'm making no money on it, jsut spreading some stoke.
Advertising rates.
fireballs to that.
