Selling VBX ABEC 7 bearings $25 +postage.
$5 of every set going to NNO

need not get Ripped off by the likes of skate shops.
these would be 50 in a store.

they have two rubber seals.
i have been using some and they out perform and have outlasted my bones reds.
7/8 of the reds fully ceased after the auckland all nighter.

Don't see why not, He's not advertising a business or anything, just selling some bearings he's got , not trying to make profit or anything, and sussing out NNO with like $40.

What the hell man, first you go and make boards that put many imported boards to shame then you go and drop 20% of your retail price on bearings back to nno. That is a very kind gesture and the funds will be very much appreciated!

You my friend are capital O for awesome!

For now NNO is ok with this sort of use of the site as first up $25 for a set of decent bearings is cheap and the donation to nno means that both the seller and buyer are helping nno... Is any one a loser in this situation, well other than overpriced retail stores :P

This is also an interesting idea that I would like to nut out some more as it may be way for the smaller guys, without large online retail stores could move product and get in front of 350-400 hits a day!

Here is what I think:
So far I cant really think of any cons, I will use this service when/if I start selling product/boards again.
Pros:

This concept gives nz skaters a wider range of product as well as supporting a forum that many have expressed interest in advertising on.
The only cost to the seller is incurred when the item has sold sells helping nz board builders to gain a foot hold in the nz market by taking the strain off having to put cash upfront to advertise.
I feel this is a far better solution than charging nz builders monthly advertising rates as that was not sitting well with myself and many other members of the site.
Sellers can now factor this small cost (I would would not ask any one to be as generous as apookako)into each item and are not forced to really PUSH product to cover a monthly cost.

Cons:
um....
To be honest, i really like this solution and am struggling to see how this is not benifiting nz board builder, nz riders and our nz longboarding community

Any members think this is unfair? Feel free to call me on this as its the nno community that needs to keep me in check and stop me from doing something that is not inline with what you want!

This idea needs lots more work but so far has been the best solution to date!

Thanks Apookako for a sick deal, getting behind NNO and make sure you bring two sets for myself next skate!

As a retailer...

Hi Jestah we have discussed something like this in the recent past. Maybe I might fit into your category of "large online retail" stores but I would happily support the idea of paying NNO a percentage of every sale to a NNO member - regardless of whether or not that item was advertised here initially. The only technical difficulty I see with that is identifying who the NNO members are when a purchase is made.

As an alternative we could simply advertise NNO-Only specials on the site and we could work out a percentage of those sales.

NNO, its members and you Jestah, have been incredibly supportive of our little enterprise and I see this as a repayment of sorts.

I would like to thank Billy, bombardierlongboards.co.nz and
www.boarderlines.co.nz as he was the first retailer to approach me a while back about offering help in any way he could! I have asked him to hold that help for a little while until we had finally heard from GSNZ.

The big thing that stands out to me about your work Billy is that you have never asked for any thing in return or any online recognition of your offers but just wanted to help NNO out because you thinks its a good cause.

I only ever hear good things about your stoke, services and countless stories how you hook riders up for no other reason to see them as stoked as yourself!

Billy, I'll give you a call tonight to nut out some ideas!

perhaps NNO could allow Retailers to advertise a product on nno as a nno special. where a decent set percentage of the cost goes to nno. but the seller would first have to organize it with nno.
nno may have to determine wether the product at the proposed cost will be beneficial to the nz longboarder.

and just to clarify i mean the bits that go between the 2 bearings rather then between the nut and bearing or hanger and bearing as some people think.

I just noticed those ones - $25US for a set of ceramic Biltins definitely aint bad, but doesn't look like they sell in bigger than an 8 pack, although I guess you could always ask. Anyone know how long the rubber shields last though? I have Biltins so only got a metal shield, and never used bearings with a rubber shield so got no experience with them.

I've only ever used rubber shields minus the one time I had metal shields.

One rubber shield pwns 2 metal shields . .
TWO rubber shields destroys two metal shields.

I say this because :
A million times easier to clean your bearings properly.
The rubbers don't deform when you do take them off.
They don't rust onto the bearing if you rain skate and forget about them for a day or two.

There's heaps of other upsides but I just woke up and can't think properly haha.
