Bearings

Want some new bearings, not too sure on what to look for. I want something good for cruising and downhill. I have Abec 5's now and want to upgrade, something around $60, any ideas??
Cheers

BILTINS

Amazing bearings. Go on boarder lines to find them

i concur

or bones reds. if ur thinking about upgrading to ceramics don't bother. they're a waist of money

Bones

Get some $45 Bones, run smooth and fast and cheap to replace.

Im looking for something

Im looking for something equivalent to maybe abec 9's, how do bone reds compare

bearings are bearings bro.

bearings are bearings bro. bones reds are what i use and i know alot of other people use.

when deciding on how much to spend on bearings remember this

scoot smith spit in his bearings before a race one time and still won.

The abec scale is not really

The abec scale is not really something you should be looking at for skate bearings as it was never designed with skate bearings in mind at all.

If you want some new bearings just get some cheap vxb's off of larrynom for 15 bucks and just dont get them wet and run some fast lube in them. And when they do wear out just get some new ones coz they r so cheap.

The feel of surfing... with the chance of dying.

K thanks guys. bone reds

NOT HYPER!

NEVER BUY FROM HYPER!
Either Boarder Lines or Ultimate Boards are great choices how ever :)

Haha k thanks, what's so bad

Haha k thanks, what's so bad about hyper

some say they're blood

some say they're blood sucking vampires.

I've contacted them multiple times about sponsoring events and they've wanted no part in it. yet ultimateboards and boarderlinez have been more than happy to help

Some say they stay alive by

Some say they stay alive by drinking the urine of 3rd world child labourers, all I know is they jack the prices on everything and have given nothing to the NZ longboard community.

“Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting...'Holy Mother of God...What a Ride!!!''

i could write you a list..

but basically there a rip off and are no good for our scene

K cheers for the help guys

K cheers for the help guys :)

I've used the same bearings

I've used the same bearings for over two years now. Bone reds too, the best thing for bearings is clean them out with a alcohol and throw in a lubricant like vaseline.

The reason why the Abec rating doesn't work is because when you have any impact whats so ever the bearing is slightly dented making the precision fly out the window.

Lube, Lube and more Lube.

Like everyone said, don't go

Like everyone said, don't go to Hyper - they sell crap for WAY too high a price, and the decent stuff they sell is similarly overpriced. Boarderlines.co.nz or Ultimateboards.co.nz are the way to go for sure.

Personally, I like my Biltins, but when I scrape some dosh together I'm going to buy a set of VXB bearings with the built-in spacers - they're roughly about the same price as Biltins with shipping tacked on, but ceramic with a rubber shield, and I'm keen to see how they compare.

Someone on here bought some, IIRC, but haven't heard how they went. If you were that person, any chance of an update?

meh

they arnt noticeably different to my bones reds with spacers
