As a newbie to longboarding in Auckland the Places section is great. However also being from the UK I can't easily recognize if the place is Wellington or Auckland before I click the link.
Would it be possible to separate out the Wellington and Auckland Places into two lists. I have started going through and adding google map links that open in a new tab.
I was going to build my own little section online for this but I can do it here then everyone gets to share it. I am looking for a plug in that can do a Map My Run or Map My Ride type set up for those of us would Longboard to work. Might have to outsource this though.
Maybe a lessons section like the stuff on about.com etc so that newbies don't have to go all over the place they can learn stuff from this site too.
How about a links page to people like Hyperride.co.nz who do a lot of skate stuff too and also some links to international Longboard companies like Sector 9 and Originalskateboards.
I could go on for a bit so will stop there. I work in IT as a web app designer so am interested in helping you guys turn this already good website into a really great website :)

Hey, really good
Hey, really good suggestions!
Have you had any experience with drupal? I will have a look into these things once I have had a good look at making it easier to post photos in comments/posts...
Drupal vs Plone
We use Plone at work which is basically like Drupal but with more access to the backend to make it more configurable and scalable for high transactional business. So we do web app development and then we front end it with plone. So with that in mind I would guess I could get to grips with Drupal really quickly. I know it has some really nice out of the box features. I could help you guys with that side of the site if you wanted plus I am surrounded with Graphics guys who could do us some nice images and all that stuff if you ever wanted to give the site a face lift.
Drupal has a community plug in called Embed Google Maps field. This would allow us to put a map on each of the Places and allow members to use the embeded driving instructions part of Google maps to plan a skating route.
Let me know if you want me to help out website wise and you can give me the drupal permissions etc. In the meantime I will study up on Drupal.
