Is something like this possible.
Once an event is posted an automatic email alert is sent to the people in that area??
A text alert would be better but that will cost $$$$.

im sure ive fooled around with casual coding that enabled me to do this,so it shouldn't be too hard to do

Yep that may be possible, though would have to comply with anti spam laws. We have a few other tweaks planned but will consider adding this to the list :)

Yup this was down on the wish list. Just sorry I haven't been able to work on the site recently due to starting a new job and then popping off to the snow for a bit. Back in Auckland now and raring to go. Meeting with some designer friends of my for lunch this week, they have some graphics designs to show me for a face lift for the site and I will be in touch Richard regarding some of the modules I have been having a look at.
