hello! i just moved to auckland a few days ago and was hoping to find some mellow, uncluttered and untrafficked pavement to help ease that alone-in-a-new-place feeling. i've been exploring a fair bit (well, for the couple days i've been here) but right now i'm hanging around semi-homeless and carless in the city center and thought to see if you guys could maybe point me to a neighborhood that'd take it easy on someone still trying to sort out traffic driving on the left side of the road... no special hills or anything, i'm just in desperate need of a solid cruise. man would it be appreciated!

try the auckland waterfront. Its nice pavement from the end of the wharfs right around a number of bays. Double lanned for bike and ped use most of the way on the footpath.
Auckland Domain is an option also and has a mild hill from the hospital.
Western Springs Park is good for a cruise but its either a mediumish skate or bus from the city.
If your looking for something a little more and our willing to use public transport I could also post some other places and how to get there. Their are day pass options from 8 bucks through to 13 which will get you most places in
