Possibly the best piece of road I've seen in NZ for proper downhill skateboarding.

This road is very steep, very long and sometimes has a lot of grit on it - so don't even think about bombing it without the appropriate skill and precautions!

that would be one the greatest sites i've seen in NZ as for hills!! i've driven up it for snowboarding and now ill make it a long term goal to board it!! good post!

I think hitting it in the summer time would be best. Hopefully by then the grit would be been washed off the road by rain or something. Defiantly looks like a sweet road though. I've been eying it up every time I go up to the mountain.
