sorry i got to say that this vid is kida lame.... it seems that to corner on his set up you have to put your hands down...

I only really saw one real slide... how about we see some vids of these boards actually doing what they do well, low speed super carving?

Yup you have a point Jestah. Your NNO website does seem to have a slight bias towards the downhill racing and Slalom Longboarding activities. All types of longboarding needs to be supported so that no one is left out. For example the idea of bombing hills isn't for me. I do it sometimes but it is the carving of a steep hill and controlling my speed all the way to the bottom with smooth turns that I love. But I also really admire the balls of you guys who do the big hill bombing.

I am sure in some of those turns Brian didn't actually have to do any slides at all. He does them coz he likes to do them. As you said Original boards are not built for speeding down a hill.

I will post some videos of Original boards doing exactly what you have asked for. Low speed super carving. Hopefully we can have a good mix of Longboarders of all styles on this site, if there isn't already.

Most who ride with me know that i love ALL forms of skating, i ride dh, wigglie around cones, slash sidewalks surf stylee, mini are my best friend even more so when im buttboard it down brooklyn hill with a carver cx up front and have even been known to bust out the odd pool session or two! BUT choosing the right board for the right hill is where its at for me, why make it harder than it needs to be ay? I didn't mean to be rude but its just my thing to use the best product or the style i want to rock rather than straddle around a corner to have nuff stability to make it around (as this is what this vid looks like to me). On the flip side i would also say that a rider on a super low evo with muguns is going to look like a tool when trying to weave in and out of a set of tight cones :P

I was expecting to see some tight ped wiggling, side walk slashing and general surf stylee! Come on post some vids and show us what these boards can really do!

originals don't appeal to me...

but i can see how they'd appeal to people that didn't have hills in there area and wanted to street skate around town on them...

I've watched most of the original boards videos and it seems they're selling a lifestyle rather than the board... but its working so :/ same with sector 9. but this is just my opinion

I do enjoy carving down hills and stuff but if i can do most of the stuff an original can on a regular longboard and still hit speeds of over 80 on that same board...

haha, im a big fan of original trucks, cant really compare them to reverse kingpin. there good for fast "super carving," too. I love how progressive their lean is

I will try and post some Vids showing what these boards are best at. I think TribalChea is right, Original are trying to sell a Lifestyle to go with the board. Its kinda like what Apple would do if they made skateboards. What is interesting is that I know Original sell more than 30 boards direct into NZ from their website already so there are NZ'ers buying into it. And for anyone who is interested the guys from Original may be visiting this summer. I would love them to meet you guys and we can get our corner of Longboarding onto one of their videos.
