The banks boys' local. Starting 7.7km up the road, it works its way down from the summit up behind Lyttelton into the town center. Seal is quite rough so takes a bit of getting used to and it is neccesary to stop at the intersection at the hilltop because the corner is blind both ways. (also a good time to stretch the legs and take in the serene views) Also the end of the run is outside the police station so dont abuse it and either stop a bit up the hill or keep it subtle...
Excellent slide hill, great seal, noone really parks on the road so wide as for maximum fun! Stop looking at it, go slide it!
Fast near perfect hill, equally as good for suburban DH as it is sliding. Very fun hill with a switchback both ways, awesome surface. If DH-ing confident slides are a definite must! Footbraking would be handy too... (A DH that is not for the faint hearted)
A small but sweet skate park consisting of a mint concrete wave, table top and an awsum mound for dropping in at speed.
A sweet 12 level carpark, smooth, glassy surface, great for speed, carving, sliding and of course cruising, sometimes bailing! Best to hit it up on a sunday night because of lack of security and its open late.
It's just been re-sealed because of a subdivision. some of the corners sre really tight and youve gotta watch for oncoming traffic. It's also guite narrow in some parts.
