The Leeds United Foundation is the official charity for Leeds United Football Club, delivering community programs including Soccer Schools, Skill Centers, Women & Girls Sessions and Disability Football Sessions.

The Foundation uses the power of sport to educate, motivate, inspire, and support people throughout the local Leeds community, there are a number of courses available over the coming weeks and more details can be found below:

Women & Girls

Dates: Wednesday & Friday September-July

Age group: 7-14

Locations: Aspire at the Park, Grammar School at Leeds, King James High School, Scarborough

Brief overview: The Development Center’s main aim is to increase participation in girls’ football – offering young females who are interested in playing the sport and developing their skills the opportunity to do so.

This program has been designed to find and nurture talent from a young age within our region, providing a platform for the girls to perform at their best level after receiving first-class coaching and support.

The Development Center program is for females only, with one training session taking place each week with qualified coaches from the club’s official charity. For those that wish to continue playing football there will also be the opportunity to progress into the Girls Academy within the Foundation and the Shadow Squad.

Sessions will be based on individualized coaching, providing the opportunity for females to improve not only their skills and technique but also confidence, covering all aspects of the game. This means that the sessions are training specific as opposed to including small games for the players to take part in – each player can therefore continue to play for a local grassroots team whilst training among the Leeds United Foundation.
